For this 40' x 60' x 10' pole barn, we used durable, high-quality materials to create a strong and functional structure. The barn is supported by 3-ply 2x6 Glu-Lam posts, spaced 8' on center along the eaves and 10' on center along the gables. Each post is set on a 5x16 precast concrete footer block and secured with an 80 lb bag of Sakrete for added stability. The structure includes 2-ply 2x12 Southern Yellow Pine (SYP) headers, with 3-ply headers over the 10' eave openings for extra reinforcement. The roof features pre-fabricated trusses with a 4/12 pitch, rated for 35-5-5 loading, and spaced 48" on center. It includes 12" overhangs on the eaves, finished with vented metal soffit and painted steel fascia, while the gables are flush for a clean, streamlined look. The walls are framed with 2x4 purlins and girts, spaced 24" on center, and supported by a 2x8 treated skirtboard for added strength. The exterior is finished with Everlast 28-gauge Lynx Series metal roofing and siding, with vented closures under the ridge cap for improved airflow. Painted steel ridge cap, rake and corner trim, base angle, gutter apron, and overhead door trim give the barn a clean, polished finish. For access, the barn includes two 10' x 8' ProDoor 4210 overhead doors, which are R-6.8 insulated with a vinyl back and raised panel wood grain finish in white. Each door is equipped with torsion springs, a standard track, weather stripping, a steel angle, and a slide lock for added security. A 3'0" x 6'8" solid 6-panel fiberglass entry door with a black keyed doorknob provides easy access, while four 36" x 36" white vinyl sliding windows without grids let in natural light and ventilation. The headers are secured with 4" GRK structural screws to ensure everything stays secure and stable.
