For this 28' x 40' x 12' garage, we used top-quality materials to ensure strength, functionality, and a clean finish. The structure includes 3-ply 2x6 Glu-Lam posts spaced 8' on center, each set on a 5x16 precast concrete footer block and secured with an 80 lb bag of Sakrete for stability. We installed 2-ply 2x10 MSR truss bearers, fastened with 4" GRK structural screws for added strength and support. The roof features pre-fabricated trusses with a 4/12 pitch, rated for 35-5-5 loading, and spaced 48" on center. We added 12" overhangs on both the eaves and gables, finishing them with vented metal soffit for proper airflow. The walls are framed with 2x4 purlins and girts, spaced 24" on center, and supported by a 2x8 treated skirtboard for extra durability. The exterior is clad with Everlast 27-gauge OMNI Series metal roofing and siding, secured with color-matched screws for a clean look. A Therma Guard R-9 vapor barrier on the roof helps control moisture, while vented closures under the ridge cap and foam strips at the eaves improve airflow and weather protection. Painted steel ridge cap, rake and corner trim, base angle, gutter apron, overhead door trim, and double angle at the gables give the garage a polished finish. For access, the garage includes two 10' x 10' ProDoor 4210 overhead doors (R-6.8 insulated with a vinyl back and raised panel wood grain finish in white). Each door features torsion springs, a standard track, weather stripping, a steel angle, a slide lock, and no windows for added security. A 3'0" x 6'8" 9-lite fiberglass entry door with a black keyed doorknob provides easy entry. We also installed four 36" x 48" white vinyl single-hung windows to allow natural light and ventilation. This setup delivers a strong, functional, and visually appealing structure.
