For this 32' x 60' x 12' pole barn with a lean-to and attic, we used high-quality materials to create a strong and versatile structure. The barn includes 3-ply 2x6 Glu-Lam posts spaced 8' on center, each set on a 5x16 precast concrete footer block and secured with an 80 lb bag of Sakrete for added stability. We installed 2-ply 2x12 MSR headers for solid structural support.
The roof features pre-fabricated attic storage trusses with a 7/12 pitch, rated for 25-5-5 loading, and spaced 24" on center. The trusses are framed to accommodate a 14' x 7'6" attic room (without flooring or stairs). We included 12" overhangs on the eaves and gables, finished with vented aluminum soffit and painted steel fascia for ventilation and a clean look. The walls are framed with 2x4 purlins and sidewall girts, spaced 24" on center, and supported by a 2x8 treated skirtboard for added strength.
The exterior combines Everlast 28-gauge Lynx Series metal roofing with 1x12 Eastern White Pine board and batten siding for a classic, durable finish. For access, we installed two 10' x 9' ProDoor 6410 overhead doors with one row of windows, R-10 insulation, and a 26-gauge steel back. Each door features raised panel wood grain in white, torsion springs, a standard track, weather stripping, a steel angle, and a slide lock. A 3'0" x 6'8" 9-lite fiberglass entry door provides additional entry, while seven 36" x 48" white vinyl single-hung windows with grids bring in natural light and ventilation.
The 12' x 60' lean-to on the eave is supported by 6x6 treated posts spaced 10' on center, each set on a 5x12 footer block and secured with Sakrete. It features 2x10 Yellow Pine headers and ledger, with 2x8 rafters at a 2/12 pitch spaced 4' on center. We reinforced the lean-to with 2x6 treated Y-braces and 2x4 treated uplift blocks for added stability. This setup delivers a functional and visually appealing structure with versatile storage and workspace options.
