FAQs About Board & Batten Siding

Board and batten siding is a vertical panel design that alternates wide boards with narrow raised battens. It creates a timeless, dimensional look that works equally well for residential, agricultural, and commercial buildings.

For strength, weather resistance, and low maintenance, metal board and batten siding is the best option for builders. It offers a cleaner finish and far greater longevity than wood or vinyl alternatives.

Cost varies by panel length, finish, and order volume. While exact pricing depends on your project, metal board and batten typically offers the best long-term value due to its durability and minimal upkeep. Contact our team for a detailed quote.

Yes. Our board and batten siding panels are designed for straightforward installation using standard tools and fasteners. Many builders and experienced DIYers find the process simple thanks to the panel’s factory-formed edges and consistent fit. For detailed installation guidance, contact our team

Each Board and Batten panel from New Holland Supply provides 10 inches of coverage, with a batten that measures 2-1/8 inches wide and 1/2 inch high, giving your building a clean, symmetrical appearance with fewer seams and dependable performance.

Oil canning is a slight waviness that may appear in flat sections of metal panels. It’s a natural characteristic of sheet steel, not a defect. To minimize it, install panels on a solid substrate (7/16-inch sheathing or thicker), use Quartz coil, and avoid over-driving fasteners.

Use Utility Trim inside the J-Channel to protect cut panel edges and prevent movement. For corners, install trim before fastening wall panels to conceal fasteners and maintain a finished, professional look.

Every panel is backed by a 40-year warranty, covering fading, rust, and corrosion for long-term peace of mind.
